OBITS FROM THE WEST UNION ASSOCIATION OF UNITED BAPTISTS MINUTES

Chitwood, John Quincy-The son of the late Asbury and Charity
Chitwood, was born in Scott County, Tennessee, April 23, 1899, 
deceased this life December 1, 1965 at the age of 66 years, 7 
months, and 8 days.

He was united in marriage with Mary Jane Walker, September 4, 
1920 and to this union 6 children were born. Besides his wife, 
he is survived by 3 sons, John J. of Arcada, Florida, Carl and 
Max both of Winfield, Tennessee; 3 daughters, Mrs. Geneva 
McRoberts of Cincinnati, Ohio, Pauline Chitwood of Winfield, 
Tennessee and Mrs. Madeline Strunk of Strunk, Kentucky; 4
brothers, Sanford, Artis and Francis all of Winfield, Larue of 
Oneida; 3 sisters, Mrs. Mattie Cooper of Whitley City, Kentucky, 
Mrs. Stella Brown and Mrs. Emma Strunk of Winfield. He also 
leaves 22 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a host of 
relatives and friends.

He professed faith in Christ around 1916 united with Pine Grove 
Baptist Church where he remained a member until the time of his 
death. He was a devoted husband and father and loved and 
admired by all who knew him. "Blessed are the dead which die in
the Lord."
