FROM THE WEST UNION ASSOCIATION OF UNITED BAPTISTS MINUTES, 
1951

Chitwood, Sylvester was born October 1, 1891, deceased May 24, 
1951, age 59 years, 7 months and 14 days, was married to 
Margaret Wright June 5, 1921.

To this union were born 4 children; Reba Rubena, Sutton of 
Cincinnati, and Rose Mary Childress of Stearns, Ky., Howard 
of Revelo, Ky. He also leaves 3 brothers and one sister, 
four grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives to 
mourn his absence.  

He united with the Piney Grove Church 1914 and later moved to 
Helenwood where he remained until death. He was ordained to 
the ministry Nov. 7, 1926.

He was a veteran of World War I, entered the service Aug. 1917, 
discharged April 23, 1919.

His gain is our loss.
