FROM THE WEST UNION ASSOCIATION OF UNITED BAPTISTS MINUTES, 
1954

Childress, Sister Hettie was born November 30, 1906 and 
departed this life, September 5, 1954, at the age of 47 
years, 9 months and 25 days.  

She was united in marriage to Dewey Childress and to his 
union were born 4 children, 2 sons, Harold Childress of 
Pioneer, Tenn., Dewey Childress, Jr., of Pioneer, Tenn.  
2 daughters, Eva Long of Huntsville, Tenn., and Miss Norma
Jean Childress of Pioneer, Tenn., also 2 brothers and 3 
sisters.  

Sister Childress joined the Pioneer Baptist Church in the 
year 1940 and when the Jakes Branch United Baptist Church 
was organized, she moved her letter from the Pioneer Church 
to Jakes Branch Church and went in as a charter member.
She remained with this church until death.  

A vacant place is in our home and church, but we feel our 
loss is her eternal gain in glory.
