Deceased February 8, 1966 at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 25 days. Survivors: 1 Daughter, Mrs. Arvis Acres of Huntsville, Tenn.; 2 sons, Walter Cross, Maryville, Tennessee and Herbert Cross of Nashville, Tenn.; 4 sisters, Marlena Cross, Mrs. W.L. Coker, both of Charleys Branch, Mrs. Johnny West of Huntsville, Tenn. and Mrs. Howard Newport of McAllen, Texas; 3 brothers, Tom Cross, McAllen, Texas, Haywood Cross, Piedmont, California and Charlie Cross of McAllen, Texas; 10 Grand- children; 2 Great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He professed faith in Christ and was baptized into the Cherry Fork Baptist Church several years ago. He was elected by the Church as Clerk of the Church January 26, 1924, and served as such until death. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion Post #136, Oneida, Tennessee. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. By his profession of faith in Christ, we look forward to meeting him again in the heavenly country where death comes no more.
