FROM THE WEST UNION ASSOCIATION OF UNITED BAPTISTS MINUTES

Duncan, Joseph Melvin was born April 27th, 1887 and departed 
this life, March 16th, 1965.  

He leaves behind one son, Rev. Luther Duncan of Route 1, 
Oneida, Tennessee; three brothers, W. H. Duncan of Oneida, 
Tennessee, W.M. Duncan of Louisville, Kentucky and Gernie 
Duncan of Silerville, Kentucky; one sister, Mrs. Bertha 
Abbott of Danville, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; seven 
great grandchildren and a number of relatives and friends 
to mourn his absence.  

He joined the Salem United Baptist Church through profession 
of faith and baptism late in life where he remained a
faithful member until the good Lord called him to rest.  

His noted testimony was: "I have a great hope." We feel our 
great loss is his eternal gain in Glory.
