David Forest was born in Scott County, Tennessee November 30, 1903, deceased this life September 24, 1966 at the age of 62 years, 9 months and 24 days. He was the son of Rev. J. H. Duncan and the late Arminda Murphy Duncan. He first was united in marriage with Letta Murphy (now deceased) and one child was born to this union. Later he united in marriage with Rose Lorene Chitwood and five children were born to this union. Besides his wife he is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Brenda Ciofani, Miss Ruby Duncan and Miss Carol Duncan. 3 sons, David and Edward Duncan of Detroit, Michigan and Forest Duncan, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; Father, Rev. J. H. Duncan; step-mother, Susan Duncan, both of Winfield, Tennessee; 3 brothers, Willard and Reuben Duncan of Oneida and Hurstle Duncan of Louisville, Kentucky; 4 sisters, Mrs. Marie Murphy of Winfield, Mrs. Pearl Martin of New Albany, Indiana, Mrs. Iris Ward of Louisville, Kentucky, and Mrs. Ruth Martin of Atlanta, Georgia. He also leaves 4 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Early in life he professed faith in Christ and united with the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he remained a member until the time of his death. He was ordained into the ministry in 1940. Blessed are dead that die in the Lord.
