George Coffey, Bro. Stewart Jones, and Bro. Tom Abbott officiating. Burial was in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery./ He was born April 26, 1949 in the Yamacraw community to Goldman Godsey and Lillie Coffey Godsey. Edward had worked in a steel foundry and served in the United States Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building things and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Baptist Church. He was a good honest man who loved the Lord and was very knowledgeable about the bible. He had recently surrendered to the ministry./ Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Melvin Godsey and Willard Godsey, and a sister, Stella Godsey./ Survivors include his wife, Charlene Dobbs Godsey, whom he married June 25, 1971, a son, Will Godsey of Stearns, Kentucky, a daughter, Gwen Gibson and her husband, Shane, of Stearns, Kentucky, two brothers, Ronald Godsey and his wife, Sherry, of Oneida, Tennessee and Arnold Godsey and his wife, Janice of Whitley City, Kentucky, five sisters, Dean Clark and her husband, Albert, of Muncie, Indiana, Melva Ross and her husband, Don, of Stearns, Kentucky, Leona Dixon and her husband, Gene, of Whitley City, Kentucky, Linda Stephens and her husband, James, of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Della Strunk of Stearns, Kentucky./ Condolences may be emailed to the family at strunkfh@yahoo.com.
