Tuesday, March 27, 1973, McCreary County Record:
Earlie Gregory, 47, died at his home in Stearns, March 20. His wife, the 
former Elaney Waters, survives./  He was born June 6, 1925, at Slavens and was 
a son of John Gregory and Pearly Jones Gregory, both deceased. He was a 
disabled coal miner and a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church./  
Surviving besides his wife are five sons, Charles E. Gregory, Earl T. Gregory, 
Gary David Gregory, Larry Gregory and Donald Jeffery Gregory, all of Stearns; 
three daughters, Mrs. Charlene Abbott of Parkers Lake, Mrs. Betty Watters of 
Whitley City and Janice C. Gregory of Stearns; one sister, Mrs. Zona Phillips 
of Slavens; two brothers, Wilburn Gregory of Monticello and Edgar Gregory of 
Stearns, and two half-brothers, Frankie and Sherman Lee Gregory, both 
residents of Monticello./  The Rev. Robert Jones conducted funeral services at 
Hickman Funeral Home Chapel March 23./  Pallbearers were Ernest Abbott, Burt 
Waters, Sammy Vaughn, Howard Phillips, Stanley Worley and Mike Kidd./  Burial 
was in Angel Cemetery of Stearns.
