LAWRENCE CLYDE HICKS, age 71, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 1999 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky. He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on March 10, 1928, the son of William Henry and Sarah Elizabeth Stephens Hicks. Both parents preceded him in death. On December 3, 1952, he married Lela Sullivan Hicks, who survives. He is also survived by 8 children Rose Lee Owen of Gram, North Carolina, Gordon Hicks of Indiana, William Hicks, Johnny Hicks, Judy Brummley, Melisa Foster, Gary Hicks and Lela Joyce Foster; 1 sister Nannie Cooper; 3 brothers Johnny, Hobert and Curtis Hicks; 13 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Preceding him in death are 3 children Lewis, Reba and Florence Hicks. He had accepted Christ as his Savior as a young man, and was a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Friday, September 17, 1999 in the funeral home chapel with Brother Anson Perkins officiating. Burial was in the Cal Hill Cemetery at Pine Knot, Kentucky. Hoyt G.
