Harness on January 24th, 1944. To this union were born two children, 1 girl and 1 boy, Othello and Frankie. She professed a hope in Christ and joined the Missionary Baptist Church at Bull Creek and was baptized the first Sunday in Sept. 1945. Sister Ruth drew her letter from this church the First Saturday of June 1949 and joined the United Baptist Church of Bull Creek Saturday July 16th, 1949. Sister Ruth came to both churches at Bull Creek when she was able, also came to church when she had to be hauled to Church. The last time Sister Ruth was at church was on Mother's Day at Bull Creek, May the 11th, 1952. Sister Ruth lived a faithful Christian life until the Lord called her away on August 14th at 1:30 o'clock am. 1952. Sister Ruth lived 25 years, 1 month and 28 days. Her last words to her mother, she asked mother to pray for the Lord to take her on. She told mother not to cry that she was going to rest. Sister Ruth prayed all day for the Lord to take her on, just before she passed on she looked up and smiled a sweet smile and passed on. She leaves a husband and one son, Fred D. Harness and Frankie, a mother Viola Harness and a step father Arzo Harness and one brother Eugene Lawson and one sister Dorothy Harness and a grandfather Freeman Harness and a host of friends and relatives.
