Bernice Marie Kidd, 58, Rt. 1, Pine Knot, died quietly after a sudden
illness at her home Aug. 28.  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Aug. 30
at Sulphur Springs United Baptist Church with burial following in Kidd
Cemetery.  Officiating ministers conducting the services were Ledford
Stephens and Wendell Hill.

A daughter of Mrs. Lottie Jane King Kidd and the late James Garner Kidd,
she was born at Shoopman, Ky., on Nov. 4, 1919, and was a housewife.

She is survived by a daughter, Vivian Hill, Pine Knot; son-in-law,
Wendell Hill; granddaughter, Wendi Levon Hill; two brothers, Edward and
George Kidd of Pine Knot; two sisters, Laura Stephens and Vina Duncan of
Pine Knot.  A brother, Dester Kidd, preceded her in death.

Bernice Marie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and held
steadfast to the promises of everlasting life.  A host of family and friends
mourn her passing but we feel that our loss will be her eternal gain.

Active pallbearers were Garner Stephens, Jerry Stephens, Morris Kidd,
Jack Waters, Ronnie Duncan and Clarence Curtis.  Honorary  pallbearers were
Paul Kidd, Conley Duncan, Dean King, Dewane Roberts, Frank Cecil and Estol
Daugherty.

McCreary County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
