Johnnie Maxwell Retired farmer Johnnie Morris Maxwell, 63 Lancaster, Ky., formerly of McCreary County, died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at Garrard County Hospital, Lancaster. Funeral services were 2p.m. Saturday, May 20 at the chapel of Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bros. Lloyd King, Jim Cook, and Gilbert Troxell officiating. Burial was in Pine Knot Cemetery. Born Feb. 15, 1937, in Worley, Ky., he was a son of the late Odie Lee and Nora Hill Maxwell. He was a U.S. Army veteran; a retired farmer; member of Pine Knot Freewill Baptist Church; and had attended the Pentecostal Fellowship Church in Lancaster. Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Lloyd "Red" Maxwell, Floyd Maxwell and L.D. Maxwell; and two sisters, Mildred Taylor and Belle Smith. Survivors include two sisters, Minnie Ross, Revel, and Irene Shepherd, Stearns; and special friends, Patricia Conklin and Pauline and J.R. Hopkins, all of Lancaster.
