Masonic services were held June 6 at 8 p.m. by members of Orie S. Ware Lodge. Funeral services were conducted June 7 at 1 p.m. with Rev. David Spaulding and Rev. Charles Webster officiating. Burial was in McCreary Memorial Gardens. Born May 4, 1906, in Waynesville, N.C. to the late Silas Nichols and Anna Cabe Nichols, he was a coal miner, Army veteran, and member of Orie S. Ware Lodge # 874 and Laurel Heights Chapter # 288 Order of Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Nichols, Marshes Siding; children, Harry Nichols Jr., La Palma, Calf., Tony Nichols, and Jimmy Nichols, both of Cincinnati, Randall Nichols, Shelton, Wash., Judy Bybee, Marshes Siding; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Nancy Ford, Helenwood, Tenn., and Bill Conatser, Mt. Sterling; and three sisters, Mary Ruby Lampley, Macon,Ga., Betty Chambers and Gladys Ray, both of Waynesville, N.C. His first wife, Margaret Hazel Leveridge, preceded him in death.
