FROM THE WEST UNION ASSOCIATION OF UNITED BAPTISTS MINUTES
Pierce, Alexander Jackson---Was born September 16, 1877, departed this life
May 2, 1952, age 74 years, 7 months, and 14 days. He was the son of Samuel
B. and Mary Ann Tompkins Pierce of Armathwaite, Tennessee. He is survived
by two sisters, Mrs. Loretta Young, Roslin, Tenn., and Mrs. Mary
Hollinsworth, Jamestown and a host of nephews and nieces to mourn his
passing. He was united in Marriage to Mae Phillips of Harriman, Tenn.,
formerly of Buford, North Carolina, August 1911. She preceded him in death
a number of years. He professed faith in Christ at an early age and joined
the Fellowship Baptist Church at Armathwaite, Tenn. Burial was beside his
wife at Tampa, Florida.
