Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 20, 2003 at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie cox officiating. Burial was in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN. Artie was born June 16, 1913 in McCreary county, KY., the daughter of Simeon and Mary Richardson. Artie was a longtime member of the Bible Baptist Church in Portqage, IN. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sherrell and son Raymond, two grandsons Rick Powers and Doyle Cagle. Also her eleven brothers and sisters; Charlie, Lee, Jessie Richardson, Opal Clark King, Nancy Tavy Stephens, Alice Garland Smith, Philomela Jones and two brothers and two sisters who died in infancy. Artie is survived by three daughters, Mildred Cagle of Sheffield IL., Barbara Powers of Lake Station, IN., Shirley Seay of Erin, TN., one daughter in law, Lovena Randolph of Portage, In., ten grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
