Shepherd, 66 MUNCIE - Ronald E. Shepherd, 66, of Muncie, passed away Wednesday, June 25, at Ball Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born in McCreary County, Ky., to Lewis and Wilma Childers Shepherd Risden. He was employed for over 44 years, working at Chevrolet Division of General Motors, Broderick Forge and later King Indiana Forge, working as a chief engineer. He was last employed at Melling Forge, working as chief engineer in Lansing, Mich. He was a former member of the ROTC and captain of the rifle team. Mr. Shepherd was a member of the Whitney Lodge F&AM 229, Forging Industry Association and the Avondale Sympathy Club. Survivors include a son, Ronald Shepherd Jr. of Muncie; a daughter, Shari Lynn Campbell (husband: Johnny N.) of Muncie; his mother, Wilma Shepherd Risden of Somerset, Ky.; a sister, Phyllis A. Mann (husband: Terry R.) of Muncie and Somerset, Ky.; a brother, Larry W. Shepherd (wife: Marty) of Dardanelle, Ark., and fiance, Ruth Worley of Independence, Ky.; and over 50 cousins. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Julia A. Marsh Shepherd; his father; and stepfather, Mil Risden. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Parson Mortuary, with Rev. Collins Glenn officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the mortuary. Masonic memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today, at the mortuary.
