Bonnie Eugene Strunk, 65, Whitley City, died at his home June 19 after a
lingering illness.  Funeral services were held June 21 at 1 p.m. at Youngs
Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Roscoe Spradlin and Rev. Nick Douglas
officiating.  Burial was in Youngs Creek Cemetery.

He was born June 9, 1917, in Stearns to the late Joe Strunk and Martha
Jane Corder Strunk.  He was a member of Youngs Creek Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, four children and one brother.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Strunk, Whitley City; his children,
Eugene Strunk and Betty Slavens, both of Pine Knot, Gracie Strunk, Flat
Rock, Ruth Barnett, Stearns, Roy Strunk, Larry Strunk, Tommy Strunk, Mary
Strunk, Kathy Strunk, and Regina Strunk, all of Whitley City,  Whip Strunk,
Sawyer; 18 grandchildren; four brothers, Elisha Strunk, Columbia, Ohio, Ken
Strunk, Lexington, Willie Strunk, Whitley City, and Douglas Strunk, Flat
Rock; three sisters, Madeline Walker and Minnie Threet, both of Whitley
City, and Betty Bryant, Lexington.

McCreary County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
