McCREARY COUNTY RECORD 6-27-82

Bertha E. Strunk, 78, Rt. 1, Whitley City, died July 23 at Somerset
Center Nursing Home after a long illness.  Funeral services were held July
25 at 2 p.m. at McCreary County Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Linville
Maxwell officiating.  Burial was in Flatrock Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 15, 1903, in Wiborg to the late John H. Howard and
Hattie Sears Howard.  She had lived here her lifetime, was a housewife and
member of  Burnside Baptist Church.  Preceding her in death were here
parents; husband, Ernest S. Strunk; son, Glen Strunk; and an infant son; two
great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Louie and Henry Howard.

Survivors include her children; Louise Cox, Vivian Slaven and Shirley
Helton, all of Marshes Siding; Artman Strunk, Whitley City; Alene Strunk,
Cincinnati, and Douglas Strunk, Boston, Mass; 40 grandchildren; 43
great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one brother, Ross
Howard, Whitley City; and one sister, Grace Coffey, Monticello.

McCreary County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
