He was united in marriage to Ada Tompkins, June 4, 1911, having lived together 49 years. To this union were born six children, one of whom having preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his departure his faithful companion, five daughters, Mrs. George Long of Oak Ridge, Mrs. Charlie Turner of Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs. Herland Dalton, of Clarkrange, Mrs. Harley Robbins Jr. of Madison, and Mrs. Odell Copeland of Jamestown; 16 grandchildren besides a host of other relatives and friends. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Mt. Helen Baptist Church by experience and baptism. After he moved to Armathwaite to live he moved his membership by letter to the Fellowship Baptist Church April 4, 1934, where he remained a faithful member until death.
