Edgar Sexton, 69, Lehigh Acres, Fla., died there Feb 15, 1982. A Retired district supervisor with Union Pacific Railroad, he had taught school in McCreary County for four years during the 1930's. The son of Inman Phillips and Gertie Sexton, he was born July 14, 1912, in Huntsville, Tenn. He was a 1931 graduate of Burnside High School and continued his education at Lincoln Memorial University,Harrogate, Tenn., and at Eastern Kentucky State Teachers' College, Richmond. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Platte Valley Masonic Lodge No. 32 AF & AM, Signet Chapter No. 55 of Eastern Star, The York Right Consistory, all of North Platte, Neb.; Tangier Temple Baptist. He was a one-time police officer at the Chicago Merchandise Mart, an electronic technician at the Atomic Energy Commission's Oak Ridge plant in 1945, and was employed by Douglas Aircraft in California before joining Union Pacific Railroad in 1947, becoming a supervisor of electrical and mechanical foreman over the line's several Western states. He retired to Florida in 1979. Survivors include his mother, Gertie Owens, Mouthcard, Ky., his step-mother, Mrs. Creasie Phillips, Clinton, Tenn., his wife, Inez M. Keith Sexton, Lehigh Acres, Fla., a daughter, L. Carole Werk, Cincinnati, a son, Royal Don Sexton, Anaheim Hills, Calif.; eight grandchildren, six great - grandchildren, nine half - brothers, and four half - sisters. Masonic Services preceded the funeral, which was held at Nurre Brothers Funeral Home in Cincinnati, on Feb 19 with the Rev. Kenneth Pallson officiating.
