McCREARY COUNTY RECORD

OLLIE E. THORNTON, 79, died Monday, March 28, 2003 at Salisbury, Maryland.  Funeral services were held Friday, April 4, 2003 at McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Peters officiating.  Burial was in Pleasant Run Cemetery.

He was born July 17, 1923 in Alabama the son of late Dave and Lena Thornton.  He was a retired machinist. He served in the US Army during world War II.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Christine Lovett Thornton; sons Terry E. Thornton and Timmy J. Thornton and a step daughter Joyce Coggins.

Survivors include his sons; Gary E. Thornton, Lary W. Thornton, Danny E. Thornton and Tommy A. Thornton.  He is survived by step children Carol Maloney of Seaford, Delaware; Verlin Lovett of Pittsville, Maryland; Ralph Lovett of Glide, Oregon; Doyal Lovett of Laurel, Delaware; Jackie Lovett of Georgetown, Delaware; and Larry Lovett of Florida.  He is survived by a sister Nell Burdette.  He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
