THE WAYNE COUNTY OUTLOOK OBITS FOR JANUARY 5, 2000

ORBIN JESSIE VANOVER, age 83, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away Monday,
December 27, 1999 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, in Somerset.

He was born in Imboden, Virginia on May 6, 1916, the son of Andy Vanover
and Minnie Hughes.  Both parents preceded him in death.

On March 2, 1935, he married Linnie Susan (Lynn) Taylor Vanover, who
survives.

He is survived by 2 daughters Gladys V. Tate of Somerset, Kentucky and
Glenis Amick of Los Angeles, California; 1 brother Elzie Vanover of
Benham, Kentucky; 1 sister Canie Yancey of Whitley City, Kentucky; 11
grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is 1 son Harold Vanover; several brothers and
sisters; and 1 granddaughter.

He previously worked as a coal miner for International Harvest.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 31, 1999 at 1 P.M. in the
funeral home chapel with Reverend C. E. Jacobs officiating.  Burial was
in Higgenbotham in McCreary County, Kentucky.

Lange & New Brothers Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
