August 1984, McCreary County Record
Haley Godsey Wilson, 79, Route 2, Stearns, died at her home August 17, 1984 
after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Aug. 20 at 3:00 p.m. at 
the McCreary County Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clarence Loudermilk and Rev. 
Clyde Salyers officiating. Burial was in the Angel Cemetery. She was born 
February 23, 1905, in Wayne County to the late Richard and Sally Davis Godsey. 
She was a housewife and member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Preceding her in 
death were her parents; husband, the Rev. Cal Wilson, two children, two 
brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her children, Nellie Troxell of 
Revelo, and Stella Murphy, Rayford Wilson, Earl Wilson and Ernest Wilson all 
of Stearns; 23 grandchildren 43 great grandchildren; one brother Shelton 
Godsey of New River, TN; three sisters, Rosie Maxie of Somerset, Eva Slaven of 
Oneida, TN and Ada Berry of Robbins, TN. McCreary County Funeral Home handled 
arrangements.
