Walter Wilson, retired coal miner of Stearns, died at his home here June 7. He 
is survived by his wife, seven children and three brothers./  He was born in 
Wayne County of July 6, 1905, the son of William and Luverna Whitehead Wilson. 
He came to this county with his family at an early age. He was a member of the 
Antioch Baptist Church./  Surviving children are Alfred Wilson of Cold 
Springs, Mrs. Cora Waters and Mrs. Joan Smith, both of Muncie, Indiana, Mrs. 
Mamie Daugherty of Beaver Dam, Mrs. Alice Erbaugh of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Lora 
Maxwell and Miss Connie Wilson, both of Stearns; three brothers, Rev. Cal 
Wilson of Stearns, Shelby Wilson of Revelo and Elihu Wilson of Hill Top; 23 
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren./  Funeral services were Sunday in 
the Hickman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herbert "Bud" Perry and Rev. Nathan 
Byrd officiating. Burial was in Jones Cemetery.
