Clemie May Watson, 53, died February 5 at her home in Whitley City terminating 
a long illness./ The deceased was born June 8, 1909 in Wayne County and was a 
daughter of Jason Cordell and Mary Cordell Strunk. She was a member of the 
Whitley City Church of God./ She was married March 31, 1929 to Johnnie Watson 
of Smithtown who survives./ Besides her husband she is survived by two 
daughters, Mrs. Lexie Wright, Cincinnati and Miss Lillie Watson, Whitley City; 
three sons, Bravel Watson, Wiborg; Vinson Watson, Eaton, Ind.; Millford Earl 
Watson, Whitley City; her mother, Mrs. Mary Strunk, Whitley City; six 
brothers, Mitchell Cordell, Revelo; Ted Cordell, Marshes Siding; William 
Cordell, Revelo; Lloyd Cordell, Revelo; Ellis Cordell, Indiana; Dester 
Cordell, Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Wilson, Somerset; Mrs. 
Carrie Salters, Florida; and Mrs. Pearl Hickman, Pine Knot. Also surviving are 
ten grandchildren./ Funeral services were held Friday at 1 p.m. from the 
Whitley City Church of God with Rev. J. H. Bryant officiating. Burial was in 
Flat Rock Cemetery.
