Tuesday, March 20, 1962, McCreary County Record:
JAMES Better known as "JEEMER" WHITEHEAD, 77, Veteran of World War I and a 
retired coal Miner, died March 12, 1962 in the Veterans Hospital in 
Louisville. He was a resident of the Hill Top community./  Mr. Whitehead is 
survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Whitehead, six sons and daughters, Russell 
Whitehead, Truie Watson, Tony Whitehead, Mildred Howell, S. D. Whitehead and 
Zella Vaughn. Six of his 12 children preceded him in death. Also surviving are 
three sisters and one brother. Funeral services were held in the Hickman 
Funeral Home Chapel Saturday with Rev. Levi Cox in charge. Burial was in the 
Nancy Graves Cemetery.
