WHITEHEAD

  Jane Whitehead, 90, of Stearns, died April 21 at her home 
following a lingering illness.  Funeral services were conducted 
April 24 at White Oak Junction Church with Rev. Nathan Byrd and 
Rev. Henry Cox officiating.  Burial was in the Cooper Cemetery.
  Born Jan. 12, 1889, in Wayne County to the late L.Q. and 
Mary Davis, she was a member of White Oak Junction Baptist Church.
  She is survived by five children; Ethel Phillips, Monticello; Elmer
Whitehead, Alice Gibson, Robert Whitehead and Stella Morrow, all of
Stearns; 45 grandchildren; 94 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great
grandchildren; three brothers, Charlie Davis and Bob Davis, Muncie,
Ind., Howard Davis, Brazil, Australia; one sister, Polly Burnett, 
Monticello.  Preceding her in death were her husband, Rev. Bennie 
Whitehead; her parents; five sons, four daughters, six brothers and 
two sisters.
  McCreary County Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
