McCREARY RECORD DEC 7, 1982

James Kenneth Young, 60, Rt 1., Strunk, died Nov 29 at Oak Ridge
Methodist Hospital.  Funeral services were held Dec 1 at 2 p.m. at Meadows
Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Ira Sexton, Rev. Emby Kidd and Rev. Allen
Burke officiating.  Burial was in Lower Cal Hill Cemetery.

He was born March 25, 1922, in Scott County, Tenn., to the late
Milard Young and Cordie Hall Young.  He was married to Glenna Thompson Sept.
7, 1946, and had lived here most of his lifetime.  He was a coal miner and
member of Meadows Grove Baptist Church.  Preceding him in death were his
parents and a sister, Dula Phillips.

Survivors include his wife, Glenna Young, Strunk; his children Jimmy
Young, Sidney, Ohio, Frankie Young, Strunk, Phyllis Hill, Attica, Ind.,
Sheila Jones, Oneida, Tenn., Kathy Kimberling, Duncan, Okla.; five
grandchildren, five brothers, Virgil and Dallas Young, both of Whitley City,
Manuel Young, Piqua, Ohio, Curtis Young, Muncie, Ind., Arlie McCoy, Stearns;
three sisters, Clara Gibson, Whitley City, Melba Smith, Columbus, Ohio, Oma
Coffey, Sidney, Ohio.

McCreary County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
