CNIDR Isearch-cgi 1.20.06 (File: jan98.txt) BRECKINRIDGE COUNTY, KENTUCKY - OBITUARIES - January, 1998 THE HERALD-NEWS Hardinsburg, Kentucky HERBERT LEE MATTINGLY 1906-1998 Herbert Lee Mattingly, age 91, died Thursday, January 8, 1998, at his home in Payneville. Born December 26, 1906 in Meade County, Mr. Mattingly was the son of the late Henry Cleveland and sarah Gerturde [sic] Mattingly. He retired from the Civil Service at Fort Knox after 30 years of service. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Clark Mattingly; two daughters and a son-in-law, Dorothy Riggs, Brandenburg, and Mary Lena and Wallace Greenwell, Payneville; two sons, Herbert Lee "Doodle" Mattingly, Jr., Payneville, and Lamar Mattingly and friend Nola Allen, Valley Station; a daughter-in-law, Judy Mattingly, Irvington; a sister, Leora Mattingly, Brandenburg; seven grandchildren, Rick Mattingly, Kelly Mattingly, Leisa Nutt, Stacey Medley, Dana Vanover, Robert Mattingly and Travis Mattingly; four stepgrandchildren, Robbie Gandy, Pamela West, Kim Phillys, and Seth Nutt, and five great-grandchildren, Memory Mattingly, Keith Medley, Brooke Bennett, Cody Mattingly, and Taylor Vanover. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 10 from St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Payneville, with Father Jim Shook officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Hager funeral Home. Pallbearers were his grandchildren, Rick Kelly, Travis Mattingly, Leisa Nutt, Stacey Medley and Dana Vanover.
