Meade Co. Marr Bk A

JOHNSTON; CHISUM; FAIRLEIGH

Know all men by these presents, that we David JOHNSTON John Johnston & John 
CHISUM are held & firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the just 
and full sum of fifty pounds, United States currency, for which payment, well 
and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, &c jointly, 
severally & firmly, by these presents, sealed with our seals and dated this 7th 
day of August 1824.  The condition of the above obligation is such, that if 
there should be no legal cause to obstruct a marriage shortly to be solemnized 
between the above bound David JOHNSTON son of the said John JOHNSTON & Miss 
Elizabeth CHISUM daughter of the said John CHISUM for which a license this day 
issued, then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and 
virtue in law.

Father on each side appeared and Consented to the within 
marriage this 7th August 1824
