Meade Co., Marr Bk A., 

Know all men by these presents that we John Leeright WHITLEDGE and Leeright N. 
CLARK are held and firmly bound to the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the just and 
and full sum of fifty pounds United States currency which payment well & truly 
to be made & done we bind ourselves our heirs  & jointly severally and firmly 
by these presents.  Sealed with our seals & date of this 25th day of September 
1824

The Condition of the above obligation is such that if there should be no legal 
Cause to obstruct a Marriage shortly to be solemnized between the above named 
John L. WHITLEDGE & Miss Linsey CLARK Daughter of Wm A. CLARK Dec'd for which a 
license this day ---- then the above obligation to be void else to remain in 
full force & value in law.
