Smith "carthage42@hotmail.com" May 03, 1999 ------------------------------------------------- Mercer County, Ky., Deed Book 1, pp. 421-423 Grantor: James Hord Grantee: Charles Ison Date: 28 July 1792 THIS INDENTURE made this 28th day of July in the year of our lord Christ one Thousand Seven hundred and ninety two between James Hord of the County of Fayette of the one part and Charles Ison of Mercer County of the Other part WITNESSETH that the said James Hord for and in Consideration of the Sum of fifty pounds Current money to me in hand paid by the said Charles Ison the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have this day granted bargain.d and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and [sell] unto the Said Charles his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land Containing one hundred and forty two acres be the Same more or less situate lying and being in the county of Mercer on the waters of Kentucky river and bounded as followeth Viz begining at the mouth of a branch of Dicks River called the rocky branch running thence up up Duke river its Several courses Eighty one poles when reduced to a Straight line and corner on the top of the Clefts of the river with Philip Buckner to a Sugar tree thence with said Buckners lin South forty eight degrees east two hundred and Sixty poles to a white Oak and Dogwood thence east One hundred and forty poles to a White Oak and Elm corner with Daniel Coleman and Jacob Fishback thence north with said Colemas line Thirty four poles to the creek and Corner with Thomas Tirpin to two Hickories and a Dogwood thence Down the Creek its meanders to the Begining together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging To have and to hold the Said land with its appurtenances unto the said Charles his heirs and assigns forever and the said James for himself and his his heirs doth covenant and agree to and with the said Charles his heirs and assigns that he the Said James and his heirs the Said land and every part thereof unto the said Charles his heirs and assigns against the Lawful claim or claims of all and every Other person or persons whatsoever Shall and will warrant and forever Defend On witness whereof he the Said James hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the Day and Year above written.
