Jessee McGinnis and Agness his wife for and in consideration of the Sum of Four Hundred Dollars ___ cents current money of the United States to them in hand paid the receit whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and Sold and by these presents do grant Bargain & Sell unto the Sd. Royal Hankla his heirs & assigns forever a certain Lot or parcel of Land situate lying & being in the County of Mercer & State of Kentucky aforesaid on the waters of Chaplin and bounded as follows (viz) Beginning at a Beach a corner to Joel Comptons Thence North 96 poles to an hickory, thence East 100 poles to a Sugar tree & two hickories thence South 96 poles to two Beach trees in Sam'l McGinniss line thence West 100 poles to the Beginning Containing Sixty Acres. To have and to hold the Sd. Lot or parcel of Land togeather with all its appertenances unto the Said Royal Hacckla & to his Heirs and assigns to their only proper use benefit and behoof forever and the Jesee McGinnis and Agness his wife doth Covenant and agree with the Said Royal Hankla and his heirs & assigns that the premises hereby Bargained and Sold Now an and forever hereafter shall be & remain free & clear of and from all right and title of Dower or other encumbrances whatever and that they the said Jessy McGinnis and Agness his wife will and their heirs Executors and administrators shall warrant and forever defend the said lott or parcel of land with all the appurtenances unto the said Royal Hankley & to his heirs and assigns against all and every person or persons whatsoever lawfuly claiming or to claim the Same. In Testimony whereof the said Jesse McGinnis and Agness his wife Have hereunto Set their hand and Seals on the day & year first above written. This day Agnes Mcginnis a party to this Deed personally appeared before us two of the Commonwealths Justices of the peace for Said County & being examined Seperately and apart from her husband Sayeth that she doth of her free will relinquish her right of Dower to the within mentioned tract of Land given under our hands this first day of July 1817. Crawford a Subscribing witness thereto to be the act and deed of Jessee Mcginnis a party thereto and on the 2 day of February 1818 the Same was fully proven by James Caldwell another subscribing witness thereto to be the act and deed of Jessee Mcginnis whereupon I have made the Same of Record.
