This Indenture made & entered unto this 4th day of October 1824 between Samuel 
McGinnis of the County of Mercer & State of Kentucky of the One part & Jesse 
McGinnis of the same County & State of the Other Part.  Witnesseth that the 
said Samuel McGinnis for & in consideration of the sum of two thousand Dollars 
by the said Jesse to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged have bargained & Sold & by these presents do bargain Sell Alien & 
Convey to said Jesse McGinnis a Certain tract or Parcel of land Situate lying & 
being in the County & State afs'd & on the waters of Quirks run Containing One 
hundred & fifty seven & 1/4 Acres & bounded as followeth, to wit:  Beginning at 
a white Oak corner to John Neff thence S58W 47 poles to a black locust Corner 
to John Davinport thence S88W 97-1/2 po to a Stone Corner to John Neff thence 
S2E 26 po to a Stone Corner to Same thence S88W 51-1/4 po to a walnut Hickory & 
ash Corner to Same thence S2E 19 po to a white Oak Dogwood & Ironwood Corner to 
same thence W20-1/2 po to a Stone corner to the Same in a line of the meeting 
house lott thence S1-1/2E 3-1/2 po to a Stone Corner Corner to Said lott thence 
W11-1/2 po to a Stone or stake in Jeremiah Laws line thence S1-1/2E 60-1/2 po 
to a Stone Corner to Wm. McGinnis thence So2E 5-1/2 po to a Sugar tree Corner 
to John Richardson thence N8E 111 po to an Ironwood in Francis Neffs line a 
Corner to said Richardson thence N2W 85-1/2 poles to a Stone & Box Elder Corner 
to John Neff thence N41W 32 po to a Stone Corner to same thence N2-1/2W 20 po 
to the Beginning to have & to hold the afs'd tract of land together with all & 
Singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to 
the said Jesse McGinnis his Heirs & assigns forever & the said Samuel McGinnis 
the af'sd tract of land with its appurtenances to the said McGinnis will 
forever warrant & defend ag't the claim of him the said Sam'l McGinnis his 
Heirs & all person or persons claiming by through or under him but ag't the 
claim or claims of no other Person. In testimony whereof the said Samuel 
McGinnis has this day set his hand & Seal.

acknowledged by Samuel McGinnis a party thereto to be his act and deed
