Witnesseth that the said John May for and in consideration of the Natural love and affection he has for his Daughter who intermarried with the said Jefferson McGinnis he the said John May hath given granted, aliened and conveyed and by these presents doth give grant alien and convey unto the said Jefferson McGinnis and his Heirs forever One Certain tract or Parcel of land lying and being on Chaplin about one mile below Perryville and bounded as follows Beginning at the mouth a Small branch running into Chaplin on the West side thence up the branch to a point directly South of the Corner between John T. Greenwood and William Claunch, thence North to said Corner thence with Greenwoods line S86-3/4W to his corner thence [crossed out] a black ash tree and black ash stump in James Fields line thence S2E 57-1/2 poles to a white Oak hickory and dogwood corner to Charles Powell thence with his line N86-1/2E 169 poles to a white Ash on the Cliff of Chaplin thence down the same with its meanders to the Beginning containing Sixty two and half acres be the same more or less with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all its appurtenances to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Jefferson McGinnis and his Heirs forever. And the said John May for himself his Heirs Exor's &c doth and will forever warrant and defend the said land and premises against the claim of his Heirs and against the claim or claims of all Persons claiming under by or through them. In Testimony whereof the Said John May has hereunto Set his hand and affixed his seal this day and date first above written. John May (Seal) Witness Mercer County Sct.
