Mercer County WB 9:163-164. 1 July 1829 - John Finley of Danville debt to Joshua Barlew for rent of store and other items, about $350, conveys to Barlew Medicines, drugs, paints, hardware, 3 cows, one pony, one bay mare, cattle. Finley assigns slaves Jim (sometimes called Valentine), Mary and Edward (children of Patty, dec'd), John (child of Mary) to Rochester. Finley in debt to Robert Craddock $669 and to Phineas G. Rice, trustee to estate of Elizabeth Strong, dec'd, $680. Rochester to satisfy Finley's debts, remainder to benefit Louisa Finley, wife of John Finley.
