We received our discharge at Amboy and returned home. Again in September 1777 I was drafted in Major Vanarsdale’s battalion, my captain’s name I cannot recollect. We marched from the same county of York to a place near Philadelphia called Darby, as well as he can recollect, where we were stationed for some time. We marched from thence by several? forges to a place near Mudfort. Early in the morning the cannon commenced firing from Mudfort and continued through the day and in the evening one of the enemy ships was struck by a hot ball fired from the fort and blew up with a tremendous explosion. At this place, our second tour of service having expired, we were honorably discharged by our major, Simon Vanarsdale and returned home, having served two tours of three months each, faithfully. I received my discharges but have long since lost or mislaid them. He hereby relinquishes every claim whatever to a pension except the present and declares that his name is not on the pension roll of the agency of any state and further saith not. Sworn to and subscribed this day and year aforesaid, John Comingore.
