Pension #: S15197 State: VT Age: 72Ap. Date: 04 Mar 1833 Ebenezer Carey: He was born in Litchfield, Conn on 9 Mar 1761. My father died when I was 9 years old my mother being unable to keep her children, I went at age 13 to the state of Vermont lived with my Grandfather's brother near Burlington when I was 16 years og age in Apr 1777, volunteered for the militia..in the spring of 1778 I returned to Vermont lived with an uncle until sometime in Jun 1778..again enlisted..at the end of the ARW I returned to Conn. lived there 2 years..then went on board a vessel and sailed around to Savannah and on to Augusta married in a place called Bedford. I then removed to South Carolina in the year 1794 removed to Mercer Co., Ky where I have lived to the present day, with only temporary absence. I know of no person who can prove my services.
