States he was born in Somerset Co., NJ where he resided when first called into service until he removed to Ky about the year 1788 settled in Mercer Co. Spouse: Mary Terhune Sp. Age: 70 Sp. Ap. Date: 05 Sep 1848 Mary Terhune: She is the widow of Peter Demott, Dec'd he died 15 oct 1832. They married 19 Dec 1796. A copy of the bond is filed the bond was dated 14 Dec 1796 Lawrnece Demott was the bondsman. Affiant 1: Daniel Coovert Daniel Coovert: Along with Cornelius Vanarsdall they make a join deposition. Both are aged ARW soldiers. Sd Vanarsdall was a Lieut in the company in which Demott served. We lived in the same neighborhood. Affiant 1: Benjamin Woodford Benjamin Warford: Testifies in Anderson Co., Ky..that he is an old ARW soldier..am well aquainted with Henry Deshazer, ARW soldier. I knew him in SC in 1779. We were both then young in the same company.
