Date: 07 Oct 1833 FISHER, ELIAS: He was drafted in Jul 1777 in Culpepper Co., Va. "often marched bare-footed until my feet would bleed, DEPEND ON IT, This was a hard time for us"..removed to Ky in the year 1782 in 1783 he was appointed an Indian Spy under Col. Benjamin Logan..In 1783, the Indians killed Old Mr. Harberson Old Mr. Ewing..served over 1 year. Major Thomas Lillard myself acted as spys for over 15 months Spouse: Sarah Cosby Sp. Age: 75 Sp. Ap. Date: 05 May 1863 Sarah Cosby: She testifies in Buchanan Co., Mo where she resides. She is the widow of Elias Fisher, dec'd. She married him 19 Aug 1808 in Mercer Co., Ky. Her husband died in Boyle Co., Ky 23 Mar 1845..where she formerly resided. They were married by the Rev, Randolph Hall. There is a suit in Chancery in Boyle Co contesting the valadity of the Will of Elias on teh ground of imbecility of intellect the result of extreme age. Affiant 1: Benj. Fisher Benj. Fisher: 7 Oct 1833. Age 66, says he is well aquanted with Elias Fisher knows he served in Va acted as a spy for Col. Benjamin Logan in Ky against the Indians.
