HAWKINS, NATHAN, SR.: He was born in Spotsylvania Co., Va. 4 May 1763 lived 
there when the ARW began.. first enlisted in Feb or Mar 1781..about 10 days 
before Cornwallis surrendered, was wounded in the left shoulder by a cannon 
shot..lived in Spotsylvania until 1794 when I removed to Mercer Co., Ky where I 
have since resided.
