Date: 2 Nov 1818 JORDAN, PETER: Peter Jordan a resident of Mercer Co., Ky...first enlisted in 1776 in Frederick Co., Va. In 1820 he stated he had a wife 4 children dependant on his support, a son about 17 years 3 daughters. From old age hardships of life I am now totally disabled from performing manual labor myself, but have to depend upon the labor of my son who is about to leave me, as his 2 oldest brothers have already done to work and shift for themselves. Spouse: Susannah Shutt Sp. Age: 76 Sp. Ap. Date: 24 Sep 1838 Susannah Shutt: She is the widow of Peter Joran who was on the pension Roll. She married Peter Jordan in 1786 about 2 o3 3 weeks before Chirstmas in Frederick Co., Va. on the Waters of Cedar Creek, not far from General Zane's Iron Works. Her husband died 2 Aug 1824 in Mercer Co., Ky. Affiant 1: Col. Abraham Bowman Col. Abraham Bowman: He commanded the 8th Va.Regiment in 1776 he was aquainted with Peter Jordan says his service as stated by Peter Jordan is correct. Affiant 2: Peter Jordan Peter Jordan: Justice of the Peace for Mercer Co., Ky. states in 1838, that Mrs. Susanna Jordan is his aunt they moved from Va. to Ky about 1798. Affiant 3: Mary Disponette Mary Disponette: 24 Sep 1838..Mrs. Mary Disponette, states she is the oldest child of Susannah Peter Jordan dec'd she was born in Oct or Nov 1787 is now 51 years old well remembers her parents and family moving from frederick Co., Va. in the fall of 1797 landed in Ky about May 1798 settled on the Salt River in Mercer Co where my father lived until the date of his death on 2 Aug 1824 my mother, Susannah Jordan, still lives there. Affiant 4: John M. Jordan John M. Jordan: 24 Sep 1838..from the best recollections of his parents he was born 1789 is now age 49 and well recollects coming to Ky..in May of 1798 settled in Mercer Co. My father died 2 Aug 1824. Affiant 5: Magdalen Hatfield Magdalen Hatfield: Brookville, Franklin Co., Ind..Mrs. Magdalen Hatfield, age 66, states that Susannah Jordan married Peter Jordan, now dec'd, in the fall of 1786 in Frederick Co., Va. . She is a sister of said Susannah, whose maiden name was Shutt this deponent lived with Peter susanna Jordan while they lived in Va for 6 or 6 years, after their marriage. That they migrated from Va. to Ky in 1798. This deponent was at their residence in Mercer Co., Ky in 1806 (no date)
