MAY, HUMPHREY: First Enlisted 5 Feb 1776 in the 4th Va Regiment. At the time of 
his enlistment he resided in Charlotte Co., Va...Orderly Sergeant. In 1780 he 
emigrated to Ky saw service against the Indians as a spy for General George 
Rogers Clark, His physical condition prevents him from coming in person to the 
court house.

Hemphrey May, late of Mercer Co., Ky. he died 14 Feb 1838. They were married in 
Mercer Co., Ky..19 Dec 1791

Wm W. May: Taken at his home in Mercer Co., Ky..he is age 38 in August last the 
son of Hemphrey Mary, dec'd Susannah May..his father drew a pension until his 
death, 14 Feb 1838.

Affiant 2: Hawkins, George
George Hawkins: 21 Mar 1833: Taken at his home in Shelby Co., Ky.. he is in his 
83rd year of age is an ARW pensioner. Was first aquainted with Humphrey May in 
Feb 1776 they served together.

Affiant 3: Clements, Bernard
Bernard Clements: Taken at his home in Shelby Co., Ky. on 12 Apr 1833..He is a 
pensioner has been so for 13 years he is now age 73. He Humphrey May served 
together.
