MCCORMICK, GEORGE: A Deposition in the file given by George McCormick in Mercer 
Co., Ky. with no date. He states he was formerly a Capt. in the 13th Va. 
Regiment commissioned, Jul 1777. In 1776 he had raised a company of regulars. 
Resigned his commission in the fall of 1778. A copy of the will codicil of 
George McCormick is in this file..dated 10 Jan 1820: If I should get 2,000 acres 
from Va for my service; to be laid off between Scioto Little Miami in Ohio: 250 
acres to: Children: Abraham, William, Isaac, James, Hetty McCormick, Comfort 
Goodknight, Polly McGohon, My children: George, Elizabeth Crewson, Sally 
?Crethus, the heirs of my son John, dec'd heirs of son Andrew, Dec'd..to each 
have $1.00.

Michael Goodknight: Letter dated 3 Jun 1834 from Harrodsburg, Ky. from Michael 
Comfort Goodknight to the pension office..wanting papers in the case of the 
claim of the heirs of Cap. Geo. McCormick of the Va. Line. Another paper dated 3 
Jun 1834: Michael Comfort Gooknight, late McCormick..Polly McGohon, late 
McCormick of Somerset, Ky. appt George L. Waugh, of Harrodsburg, Ky., as our 
atty to secure any money due them as heirs of George McCormick.

Abraham C. McCormick: A letter in the pension file dated 7 Apr 1856 from Abraham 
C. McCormick of Georgetown, Pettis Co., Mo...James McCormick, my brother, one of 
the sons of Cap. George McCormick, dec'd, has gone to your city to recieve what 
is due the heirs of Capt. George McCormick..he has a power of atty from 2 or 3 
of the heirs..protest to turning over to him anything which may be due. My 
father left a will I am administrator 2 or 3 of the other heirs have not signed 
the power of atty. signed: Abraham C. McCormick.
