Dyson, a Lieutenant of Maryland Troops, War of the Revolution, was allowed 200 Acres of bounty land on Warrant No. 588, issued September 21, 1789. There is no further information on file as to his services and no data on file as to his family, owing to the destruction of papers in such claim, when the War Office was burned in 1800 and 1814. After a careful search of the Revolutionary records of this Bureau, I have to advise you that no soldier names Secrest, secrist, or Sechrist is found as serving from Virginia. Herewith is returned the letter of Mr. A. T. Secrest of 1001 Gomber Avenue, Cambridge, Ohio.
