He has for the last 7 years been afflicted with the Dead Palsey has been unable to walk a step for that period of time. Spouse: WHITE, RACHEL Sp. Age: 97 Sp.Ap Date: 05 Nov 1838 RACHEL SLEET: Appeared in Washington Co., Ky., widow of James Sleet, who died 26 Jul 1834. Marriage Bond from Culpepper Co., Va.: James Sleet Rachel White were married 8 Dec 1791 by William Mason, minister. Letter in the file 25 Dec 1838..mentions her children (no names) who should receive the pension due the mother. She states she married James Sleet 10 Nov 1789. Affiant 1: Thornton, Sally Sally Thornton: 13 Nov 1838, taken in Owen Co., Ky., at the home of Luke Thornton, age 58, states she is the daughter of James Sleet.. well recollects when her father got married to her step mother, Rachel Sleet, now the widow of James Sleet, she was not at the wedding but the next day, he introduced Rachel to his children as their mother. They married in the fall of 1789. Affiant 2: Coyle, Patsy Patsy Coyle: 5 Nov 1838, in Washington Co., Ky. taken at her house. She is the daughter of James Sleet step-daughter of Rachel Sleet. recollects the day her father returned after his marriage held an infare introduced her to the company his children as his wife.
