under the Indians was a Sergeant Major. Rev. John D. Paxton, states he has been 
an elder in the Presbyterian Church in Danville for many years.

JANE HENDERSON: A resident of Mercer Co., Ky. She was raised in the same 
neighborhood with her husband, Samuel Shelton who was born raised in Louisa Co., 
Va...married him 22 May 1781 in Hanover Co., Va. (Copy of marriage bond from 
Louisa Co., Va. :Samuel Shelton Jenny Henderson dated 20 May 1781) John Nuckles 
was the bondsman. Samuel Shelton died 28 May 1833.

Thomas Shelton: Son of Samuel Shelton, dec'd, resident of Boyle Co., Ky., in 
1853 appts Geo. H. Monsarrat his atty.

James Harlan: Samuel Shelton his wife were from his boyhood members of the 
Presbyterian Church. Has known them for 20 years knows several of their children 
grandchildren thinks their oldest child is over 50.
