Meaux Jr., 43, of Lexington died Tuesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Born May 14, 1959, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Ruby Mae Shy Meaux of Harrodsburg and the late Venus O. Meaux Sr. He was an auto sales representative with Fleetwood Liquidations. He was a 1977 graduate of Harrodsburg High School where he played football, basketball and track. He was a 1982 graduate of the University of Kentucky where he was a member of the Wildcats football team and a cornerback under head coach Fran Curci. Other survivors include two sons, Earl M. Sims of Burgin and Maurel Duncan of Louisville; a daughter, Venus Griffin of Lexington; two brothers, Ricardo Meaux of Lawrenceburg and Shawn Meaux of Los Angeles, Calif.; five sisters, Myrtle Griffin of Harrodsburg and Lisa Meaux, Suzette Caudill, Jennifer Fondren and Carmen Davis, all of Lexington; and a grandchild. Services will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Harrodsburg Baptist Church by J.D. Short III and Mary White. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Friday at the church. Parks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
