"Jay" Roney, 85, of Rolling Hills, Danville, formerly of Perryville, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilder Funeral Home by the Rev James Moore. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. He died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Jan 24, 1917, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Tom and Mary Brown Foster Roney. He was a retired farmer and retired employee of Farmers Tobacco Warehouse and Boyle County Stockyards. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a Christian and a member of Battlefield American Legion Post 301 Survivors include a sister, Virginia Webb of Danville; and a niece, Norma Garland of Frankfort. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hines, Jeff and William Garland, Carl Roney, Godbey Hundley Jr. and Doyle Gibbon. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Wilder Funeral Home.
