From the Danville Advocate Messenger, 10 Dec 2002 HARRODSBURG -- Services for Hubert "Bert" Ambrose Gilkison, 61, of Hamner Road will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph Muench. Burial will be in Burgin Memorial Garden. He died Sunday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Lexington. Born April 28, 1941, in Woodford County, he was the son of the late Herbert G. and Margaret "Pogy" Gormley Gilkison. He was a farmer and a member of Bluegrass Horse Pullers Association, Young Farmers of Woodford County and was a master conservation farmer. He was active in Mercer County Little League and Mercer County High School athletics. Survivors include his wife, Carlie Gilkison; three sons, Bo Gilkison of Louisville, Todd Gilkison of Lawrenceburg and Matt Gilkison of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Terri Gritton of Versailles; a brother, Pat Gilkison of Versailles; four sisters, Peggy Barnett, Pam Jones and Jenny Doyle, all of Versailles, and Kay Sargent of Lexington; and nine grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bo, Todd, Matt and Michael Gilkison, Joey Gritton, Will Jones and Bill Storey. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Drury, Victor Legacher, Jim Bob Adams, Wilbur Wagler, Don Raider and Jim Sharpe.
